I’m doing my best to make mindful purchases.  I’ve been on low buy/ no buy mode since the beginning of Oct.  I know that this month is not over yet, but I haven’t purchased any makeup products other than two small eyeshadow palettes(the Flormar one and the Essence one), which is good.  At least, my spending habits have changed from buying a makeup product almost every day to nothing for almost two weeks.  It’s the new releases section that was my weakness, I think.  So, what did I do?

 

  1. I tell myself that buying new things is an expensive temporary source of happiness.
  2. I shop my stash once a day, if I have the time to.
  3. I tell myself that I have more than enough makeup products and there isn’t a need for anything new at this time. 
  4. I tell myself that something much better will come out next year, so I don’t feel that I am missing out.

 

I am making progress on using the stuff I have, and I feel happy.

I don’t know if these will help anyone other than me, but sharing tips and tricks is a nice thought.
